The first garden club in America was founded in January 1891 by The Ladies Garden Club of Athens, Georgia.
On the whole, we encourage the love of gardening, floral design, and civic and ecological responsibilities and we help organize the interests and functions of state and local garden clubs in the U.S. and abroad.
We arrange, support, setup and supply educational and school programs along with an assortment of resources to support gardening related and environmental gatherings. Furthermore, we sponsor many marketing prospects and exclusive projects in which our participants can take part so as to be of service and help our neighborhoods on a local, regional and national level.
Members can appreciate classroom sessions, demonstrations, workshops and tours. These gatherings involve local experts on topics of interest to various gardeners, such as landscape design, ornamentals, annuals, perennials, fish keeping, local species, garden wildlife, composting, container gardening, cultivating orchids, tulips, irrigation, and many more.fall-cleaning_sh7h
We take on locality projects and are involved to gardening and beautification assignments in our neighborhood. The Dexter Garden Club has contributed spring flowering bulbs to groups and individuals for sowing in public areas everywhere.
Our club income is coming from membership dues, grants & donations from our sponsors.
